Multi-platinum award winning engineer Steve Sykes became a member of our creative development team in 2008. Steve began his professional recording career as a session guitarist playing with such prominent artists as Stanley Clark, Manfred Mann, Dusty Springfield, Bernie Taupin, Nick Gilder, John Oates (Hall & Oates) and Phillip Bailey (Earth, Wind & Fire) as well as legendary producer Phil Spector.
Steve credits producer Mike Chapman (Blondie, The Knack, Suzi Quatro, Lita Ford) for sparking his interest in area of engineering and production. Rapidly, Steve gained a reputation as one of L.A.’s top rate engineers, tracking and mixing records with notable artists like The Isley Brothers, Angela Winbush, Stanley Clarke and Brenda Russell. He was also contracted as the music mix engineer for the hit television series, “Miami Vice.” Soon after, Steve found himself working as the mix engineer on the feature films “Prince of Egypt,” “Passenger 57,” “Boyz N’ The Hood,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and “Poetic Justice.”
Today, Steve’s long and impressive discography also includes several Grammy nominated records as well as work with names like Al Jarreau, David Pack (Ambrosia), The Rippingtons, Engelbert Humperdinck, David Benoit, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Diane Schuur.
